Red Pen owner and operator Diana Lamirand is a seasoned, award-winning journalist who knows the value of the written word. Throughout her nearly 40-year career, she’s covered the gamut with newswriting, investigative reporting, feature writing, business, education and government beat coverage, consumer news, magazine writing, online publishing, and branding through social media.

For the past 12 years, Diana has focused her writing efforts on creating high-quality content marketing for a diverse group of clients, ranging from general contractors and home services companies to educational nonprofits, technology companies, healthcare services, and many others.

Mike LaFollette serves as Red Pen’s Content Director, and brings more than 10 years of content marketing and journalism experience producing in-depth feature stories, SEO-based blogs, case studies, white papers, landing pages, press releases, and all sorts of marketing collateral.

Over his career, Mike worked for several tech companies and start-ups, including Webex Events, OurHealth (now Marathon Health), Cha-Cha, and Angie’s List, where Mike served as a senior editor for Angie’s List Magazine and oversaw a team of nine writers. Mike was a key part of the original SEO team that grew organic traffic to content from 100,000 unique visits to 25 million in just five years.

Mike is a graduate of Indiana University’s Ernie Pyle School of Journalism, and also earned a B.S. in secondary education. In 2017, Mike became a Certified Master Gardener through Purdue’s Extension program. Mike leads tours of the No. 1 ranked All-American Selections Demonstration Garden at the Indiana State Fairgrounds each summer, where he volunteers and teaches the community about the joys of gardening.

Over her career, she’s worked in newsrooms, in-house marketing teams, and most recently as the content manager at an online media company, where she coordinated directly with clients on sponsored content deliverables.
